"Sooooo this happened...#Yessss," the 40-year-old actress wrote via Instagram. Alongside the caption, Union shared the gorgeous engagement ring the Miami Heat basketball player presented to her when he popped the question. Wade added: "She said YES!!!"
While speaking on the engagement for the first time, Dwyane told The Associated Press that his sons and nephew helped plan it (his son Zion held a sign with her name, his nephew Dahveon held a sign that read “Will you,” and his son Zaire held a sign that read “Marry us?”) and though his future wife is a simple lady at heart, he had to get her an amazing ring that spoke for itself.
“I kind of know my lady. I know she’s simple, but at the same time, I just wanted the rock to kind of speak for itself and not do too much with the diamonds. I think it’s a simple ring, but it’s nice. It was nicely done … it’s timeless.”
He continued:
“Just a regular Saturday. My kids were involved in it. We asked her to marry all of us, not just me. We’re a package deal, so it was cool.”
The Think Like a Man Too star and Wade, 31, shared an intimate snapshot of the bride-to-be placing her hand in her new fiancé's. Wade gave Union a beautiful 8.5 carat cushion cut diamond ring made by Jason of Beverly Hills, Us Weekly has exclusively learned.
The soon-to-be bride and groom have been dating since 2009, and have never shied away from expressing their love for one another.
